I'm wrapping up my last night (of two) in Kansas City. Just got "home" from Jenn and Evan's wedding which was beautiful. (It's after midnight, which is why this post is showing up as June 6.) My friends Ann and Ethan were kind enough to let me stay at their apartment even thought they are in Arkansas. Ann, if you're reading this, Howie is fed and ready for bed. And the manicotti were delicious. Thank you. :)

The sun was so bright today at Nelson-Atkins. Loved it.

My mom drove up this morning so we went and walked around the mall and then went to the Olive Garden for lunch. I got a flat bread pizza, which was technically an appetizer but after soup and salad I barely had room for it all. Then we drove over to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. We had never been. They currently have an Egypt display.

I'm not one to walk through an art museum and stand before each piece for several minutes to observe and savor it. I keep a quick pace from one end to the other and that is more than enough to satisfy me.

In middle/high school I was actually really good at badminton.

Out in front of the Nelson-Atkins are four shuttlecocks (or birdies). Each shuttlecock weighs 5,500 pounds, stands nearly 18 feet tall and has a diameter of some 16 feet.

The wedding tonight was at Redeemer Fellowship (a really great church in KC if you're looking for one). It was all beautiful. Seeing Jenn was great; the reception was pretty rockin' except that I have no bone in my body that is inclined to dance. Instead I caught up with a few friends I hadn't seen in forever.

Kansas City has such a different vibe than Nashville. I like them both, but Kansas City just feels like love. Probably because I have a lot of friends (and friends of friends) in KC; it's my escape when I need to relax and feel loved.

Since being in Nashville I've visited KC several times. Usually I hang out with Jenn and fall asleep during the middle of Saturdays because it's such a nice atmosphere here I can't keep from dreaming.

Tomorrow I am headed back to Nashville. My time in KC is always too short, but summer is a great time to visit.

I'll be back,
