K: Kairos

Kairos (καιρός) is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). In the New Testament kairos means "the appointed time in the purpose of God", the time when God acts (e.g. Mark 1:15, the kairos is fulfilled).

From the website:
KAIROS is a come-as-you-are worship experience geared toward energetic young adults who share a passion for growing together in the Word of God. Led by Mike Glenn of Brentwood Baptist Church, Kairos is designed to challenge you on both a personal and spiritual level and teaches you how to uniquely apply the Scriptures to your life.

I first went to Kairos when a friend invited me just before Christmas. It's been such a great place to go every week to worship and learn about Jesus. Attendance averages about 1,200—young adults, mostly but it is open for all ages.

If you ever find yourself in Nashville on a Tuesday night, definitely check this out. It starts at 7 p.m. and wraps up around 8:30. If you are busy on Tuesdays, come to Kairos Roots on Thursdays for a deeper look at what Mike talked about on Tuesday.

  1. Thank you for sharing this website! I watched the streaming video for the first in the "Six Weeks of Sin" series and really enjoyed listening to Mike. I don't know if I'll ever be in Nashville to check out Kairos in person, but now I can at least check it out online. What a great resource!
