I'm back in Kansas for a few days. On Tuesday my flight arrived in KC around 8:30am -- it was just over an hour flight; I'll never want to drive that 10 hours from Nashville again! Jenn picked me up and we had some breakfast and relaxed. I took a nap since I got up at 4am to get ready and to the airport.

In the evening, Jenn and I went to Pizza Bella, where her cousin Ryan works. It was really good! The outside wall of the restaurant was opened up so it was indoor/outdoor seating. I'd definitely recommend it.

After eating, we walked around The Plaza. This is one of my favorite places to walk around in Kansas City. Jenn and I stopped in Barnes & Noble and left a note in a book for Lindsey -- I hope she finds it! :) When I was little, I wanted to own a bookstore because I thought that meant I could sit inside and read all day.

After pizza, we stopped by a coffee shop called The Roasterie on Brookside Blvd. There was a girl there playing keyboard and singing. Jenn and I sat outside and I enjoyed my chai and she her iced coffee.

Wednesday morning: July 1. July is National Blueberry Month. Jenn made me delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Did you know a single blueberry bush can produce up to 6,000 blueberries in a year? After pancakes, we went to Loose Park and walked around the park. There were lots of ducks swimming and sleeping. I wished we had some bread to feed them. The weather was beautiful.

That night, we made stuffed shells and cheesy biscuits for dinner. Then we went to Shakespeare in the Park. Everyone brings their blanket and bottle of wine and enjoys the play. This year they performed The Merry Wives of Windsor. I took a Shakespeare class at K-State, but had never read this play. It was pretty funny.

Thursday at noon, Jenn and I met up with my friend Ann from K-State for lunch at El Camino Real, this authentic Mexican restaurant in Kansas City, KS. It was good. My dad picked me up shortly after lunch and we headed to Columbia, MO to meet up with my sister and brother-in-law.
