runaway city.

Perk of living and working in Nashville: meeting bands and hearing quality music. Today Runaway City came to LifeWay to play a few songs and talk about their upcoming album, Armored Hearts. I was impressed any band agreed to be here at 8 a.m.

(bass guitar), Jace Bowman (lead guitar), Tyler Ricketts (guitar/backup vocals)

From their website:

The name Runaway City comes from the accounts of ancient Israel. When someone committed a serious crime such as murder, that person had to run away to one of six cities of refuge in order to escape the vengeance of the victim's family. In this city of refuge, he could seek safe haven until he was given a fair trial. The band explains, “By calling ourselves Runaway City, we want people to see hope. We want to be an escape for people from whatever they may be going through, even if it is for just a three-minute song.”
The band is set for a fall tour with Decyfer Down and is scheduled to play on The Great Escape Cruise in January 2011. Runaway City formed in the Greensboro, NC area. The band's album Armored Hearts is queued to release June 22. Their single "Fade" from the album is available now. You can preview it here.
